Senior Project

Broadcasting Football

All communication majors at Indiana Wesleyan are required to complete a 90-hour project during their senior year. For my senior project, I connected my job in the sports information department and my work with Amplify Media and our radio station 94.3 The Fortress to broadcast all IWU home football games.

For the project, I brought together a team of students interested in sports broadcasting to help me put together a full gameday production including pre-game, halftime, and post-game shows.

This project not only gave me experience broadcasting football but also allowed me to give my peers opportunities to be involved with a football broadcast and gain experience in sports broadcasting. Throughout the project, I learned many things including technical skills, people and time management, and interviewing skills. My biggest takeaways from this project were the importance of teamwork, collaboration, and investing in others. There is always someone in a spot that you once were, and if you have a chance to help them out, you should.
