As a sports management major, I had opportunities to work in the Indiana Wesleyan Sports Information Department.
During my time working as a sports information student assistant, I did public address announcing, stat inputting, wrote post-game recaps, ran social media, took photos, did research, and broadcasted.
Working in the sports information department gave me valuable experience working in an athletic department and gave me opportunities to work in other sides of sports besides broadcasting.
Two of my favorite experiences working in the sports information department were getting to travel with teams to postseason games. This is a picture I took while traveling with the IWU softball team, where I ran social media, took pictures, and made a video recap.
In March of 2022, I traveled with the IWU men’s basketball team, working as the social media manager. During the trip, I conducted pre-game interviews with players and coaches for use on social media.
